ChordCodex Privacy Policy

Effective July 24, 2026

ChordCodex is built to keep your music on your device. The App has no user accounts, no ads, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information.

What stays on your device

Everything you create — songs, jams, chord presets, grooves, feels, settings, and any audio, MIDI, or PDF files you export — is stored locally on your device. It leaves your device only when you explicitly share it (for example, sending a .ccsong file or a share link to someone).

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through your Apple ID; we never see your payment details. To validate your purchase and unlock Pro features, the App uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous, randomly generated app-install identifier and your purchase receipt. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID by us. RevenueCat's handling of this data is described in their privacy policy.

Device permissions

The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location.

Share links

A ChordCodex share link encodes the shared song's data directly in the URL. Opening a link on this site serves a static page; we do not log, store, or decode the songs contained in links.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If our practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date before the change takes effect.
